How it works:
On October 1, 2013 entry judges will determine the 16 finalists for Best Picture from submissions in all categories. Those films will be posted on the Fresh Takes website. Voting on the “People’s Choice” will begin on that date and continue until November 21, 2013, the day before the festival.
The “People’s Choice” winner is determined by the most votes the film’s director receives. The cost of each vote is $1.00. There is no limit to the number of votes an entry can receive and no limit on the amount of each donation. In other words, $10.00 translates into 10 votes. $100.00 equals 100 votes.
The idea behind the “People’s Choice” is to provide young filmmakers with the opportunity to finance their next great film project. The winning vote getter will receive 100% of the money total his/her entry achieves.
